Floor/effects: TS-9 (more), TS-808 (less), Shin-Ei Uni-Vibe, CAE Boost/Line Driver, Walrus Audio Transit 3-loop bypass switcher. Note that the Uni-Vibe is in front of the Tube Screamers, whereas Trey usually runs the distortion first (Hendrix-style).
Mic: Shure SM-57.
Below you can see the floor array. There’s a true bypass pedal marked “Wet – Dry” next to the Univibe, but while it has power, there’s nothing else plugged in to it. The 3-button bypass switcher is marked with loops for MORE, LESS and UNIVIBE. You can see the numbered stickers on the Tube Screamers and Uni-Vibe that correspond with the loops in Trey’s CAE switcher for Phish tour, indicating that these are the same effects units from his Phish touring rig.

Saw your post on Twitter about the Klon. Curious to know if he’s running the Univibe before all his ODs in the main rig now (Klon and 2x Tubescreamers).
Interesting that he’s got the CAE Buffer/Line Driver in the Loop with the Vibe and not always on at the front of the rig. I was reading a post with Brad Sarno about the GD50 shows, and he was saying that Trey was using Guitar > CAE Input Buffer > Amp pretty often for his clean tone (no overdrives on)…I confirmed with Bob Bradshaw that Trey is hitting the Input buffer on his CAE Switcher in the main rig first. So it seems for the past few years, the input buffer was an important factor in his rig.
Could you ask your source to give us insight into how they approach buffering in the rig as of today, and also any more info on the placement of the Vibe. Vibe before/after OD seems like a pretty big debate on gear message boards, with most people favorite before OD…wonder if Trey is reading “The Gear Page” lol.

I think the CAE is to help pump up the signal of the univibe a bit since it’s going into a clean amp and he may not always use a dirt pedal for this gig.
As far as his regular rig goes, he may use the Bradshaw switcher buffer now or the CAE at GD50 (to beef up the single coil sounds?) but really his signal has always been buffered since he ran the TS-9s in front of the amp, anyways.
Looks like with this rig he’s trying to bypass all the buffers for whatever reason and go “straight in.” As far as univibe placement goes it seems to me that he’s more going towards “the right way” of doing things since he’s been working with the Komet dudes.

Thank you! I’ll only note that the Less and More pedals seemed to be switched, i.e., the ts9 used to be less and ts808 more, but now it’s the opposite.

Would be really great to try and get some photos of the amp settings. There are tons of terrific photos, but it seems rare that we’re actually able to make out amp and pedal settings. If possible to get them that would be amazing.

Just FYI since you’re so detailed, that looper is Walrus Audio’s Transit 3 looper. I’d assume he got the upgraded silent switches so you couldn’t hear the clicks when he steps on the pedals in a concert hall.
